Per new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Claimed at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a source provided information indicating Maxwell is preparing the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the federal prison camp in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for clemency.

Specific details of the clemency request are unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the supervisor has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and “an assortment of snacks and refreshments” for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was provided directions about instructing her contacts to contact and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told House Democrats that when the convict wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement states that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to the inmate, who would review and edit them and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Other privileges reportedly provided to Maxwell include time to “play with” a trainee assistance dog – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

This past summer, she was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as Donald Trump's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Congressional Response

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the president to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

Raskin has asked for a response to the inquiries by 24 November.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her trafficking verdict.
